Dancers bound for NYC
benefit 5:30-9 tonight
Celebrity nights are planned for one Thursday evening a month: beginning 5:30 to 9 tonight. Kit Scott will entertain Aug. 26, Sept. 16, Oct. 14 and Nov. 4 at The Green Melon on Commerce St., Overton.

Registration for Little League Football Cheer Squad is Saturday, Aug. 28 at in Overton Park from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for grades second through sixth. Season fee is $50. For more information call Stacey Steelman 903-646-8987.

    Leverett’s Chapel ISD invites elementary, junior- and high-school students and their parents to Meet the Teachers this Thursday, Aug. 19 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30. Students are welcome to bring their school supplies and leave them with the teacher.

The yearly treat for the taste buds on tap tonight: Overton Rotary Club’s ice cream supper and auction. The line forms at 6:30 p.m. at the Overton Community Building.
Funds raised go toward scholarships and local activities sponsored by the Rotary Club. For $5, adults can revisit their childhood [...]

Updated information for those who read the Aug. 5 Press and put this on their calendars: Overton Middle School has changed its  orientation date to Monday, Aug. 16.  It is still for sixth-graders and their parents and is scheduled for 5 to 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

Brookshires of Overton will host the Carter Bloodcare mobile this Monday, July 26 in the store’s parking lot, 200 W. Henderson. Donations will be accepted from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Prospective donors are asked to eat first and bring identification.
